a week of remixing // recap

1//2//3//4//5//6//7

day one: b1 + b2 + h + c2 + e2
day two: a1 + b3 + c3 + e2
day three: a2 + a3 + b1 + c2 + e1
day four: b2 + f + c3 + e2
day five: a1 + g + e1
day six: b1 + b3 + c3 + e2
day seven: a2 + c2 + h + c2 + d1 + e2

It's been a fun week remixing only one carry-on of clothes. I wore almost everything twice, and probably came up with every combination possible. (It's also fun to see the progression of snow in these photos ... from a ton of snowfall the first day to wet nasty slush the last day. What can I say? It's spring in Alaska.)

I hope this encourages you to remix your clothes in new, fun ways!

a week of remixing // they weren't joking

shirt: borrowed // skirt/tights: forever 21 // boots: target

Well, today was my last full day in Anchorage. Tomorrow I fly out and gear up for the last full month of college before summer. It's hard to believe that I'm almost done with my freshman year--it all moved so fast. I guess when people said the older you get the faster the time goes, they weren't joking, because I feel like it was just a couple weeks ago that I was stepping off the airplane for the first time in August, scared to death about the journey in front of me. College isn't so bad. In fact, I think it's one of the best things that ever happened to me. I just hope the next three years don't go by too fast ... I'm not quite ready to be totally dependent on myself just quite yet.

Today I got to go to coffee with Matt's (my boyfriend) mom, and it was a lot of fun. We talked about a lot of random things, from college to beards to boats. It was the best way to end this spring break.

And now I must pack for my plane trip and prepare myself for school work. Hope you have a great day!

a week of remixing // thoughts to share

yellow dress/boots: target // dress as cardigan: borrowed // belt/leggings: forever 21 // lace shirt: thrifted

Believe it or not, I don't really have much to say to go along with this blog post. I spent most of the day working on a photo, ate some yummy pie, and watched a movie. It's been another lazy day and I don't have any life changing thoughts to share. Haha but such is life. Things are good though, so this odd silence isn't from anything bad. :) How about instead of me talking about my boring day, I want to hear about yours!

And as always, I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

a week of remixing // morning glory

sweater: borrowed // shirt: mom's closet // pants: forever 21 // boots: gift

First of all, sorry for not posting yesterday! It was a weird day. I woke up to possibly go get my teeth cleaned, as the dentist was all booked up but promised to call if they had any spare minute to clean my teeth. Sadly they did and I had to quickly get dressed and go to the dentist. But then--and I must interject and say that I have this uncanny knack to go into some medical institution for a normal check up and come out with something awful like cancer (yep, it happened)--I didn't get to leave until the dentist looked at my x-rays. And then lo and behold, revealed by the x-ray was a cavity. My first cavity ever. And what does this cavity entail? A SHOT. WITH NEEDLES. Yes, that did require capitalization. You guys don't even know how much I hate needles. I started crying right there in the waiting room. It was bad. And doctors also tend to like to experiment on me (yep, that's happened before too), so he gave me a different kind of numbing medicine than what he usually gives, so not only am I freaking out from a needle in my face, but the needle is putting unusual chemicals in my body. Well I am happy to report that now I am cavity free and I am not intending on having another one any time soon. BRUSH YOUR TEETH KIDS OR YOU WILL DIE.

In other news, today I went ice skating with my little sister. Or rather, she ice skated while I hung on for dear life to the wall. I don't know what it is, but I can't ice or roller skate to save my life. People have tried to teach me, but it's impossible. All those elementary roller skating parties? Yep, I was the lame one to sit by the prize booth on the side or worse--not show up at all. Falling is probably my greatest fear (next to needles, of course), so me and ice skating do not mix. But my skates matched my shirt, so I looked all cute, which was possibly the only redeeming factor of the situation. Oh, and my mom got a really awesome video of the ordeal. Hopefully that won't end up on facebook any time soon.

I hope you have a good day, and remember to brush your teeth and not slip on the ice!
