apartment wishlist // the bedroom

For the final installment of my apartment wishlist series, we head on over to the bedroom, otherwise known as Lauren's sanctuary. This is where I spend the majority of my time during the summer, and even though I won't spend as much time in a bedroom at school, it's still nice to make it your special space. I'll still be sharing with another girl (don't know if I'll keep my roommate or if we will switch things around. But all my friends--including my roommate--are all in the same apartment, so we won't be far from each other!), so, being the person I am, our stuff will have to match somewhat, but these are the things I kind of want to be incorporated into the space.

The first is this pretty rug from IKEA. It reminds me of one of my millions of sketches in various notebooks, random lines and shapes all drawn to make a flower form. So obviously it needs to be under my toes. This rug is also really great, because we all have days where we forget to be awesome. This is just a nice reminder. I'm loving these string photo lights from UO. I can already picture all of my friends' faces in them to greet me every night before I go to bed. That sounds so creepy. In my never-ending love of space, this globe message board is perfect not only to fuel that love, but also to remind me of important meetings throughout the day! And what is earth without the moon? A super fun glow-in-the-dark moon clock is perfect for me to actually know what time it is so I can go to those appointments that I write down. And because you can never have enough lighting, this constellation lamp would look so cute on my desk! Since we can't paint the walls in our apartment, temporary wallpaper is the perfect fix. Well, since I'm basically living in the indie capital of the world, and I love coloring, this indie coloring book should do quite nicely in helping me procrastin--herm, relieve stress? Provide cognitive brain stimulus? But for actual brain function, I'll reach for pens and pencils in this adorable desk organizer. Ugh. They're seriously too cute. And finally to shed some light on the subject, everyone needs an overhead light. I especially love that this one is made of glass.

Well there you have it folks! The last apartment wishlist, which means ... this week I'll be moving! It also means I'll finally get a cell phone again (hellooooo instagram!). I can't wait to show you guys photos of the apartment after we decorate it.

apartment wishlist // the living room

It's on to the living room for this week's apartment wishlist! I have a feeling we will be spending the most amount of time in the living room, so it's important that it looks very cute and welcoming. In rainy Oregon, it will be important that we all have a place to hang our coats when we first come in, so this coat hanger from UO would be perfect. My friends and I are planning a huge IKEA run when we all get back together (my wallet is begging for mercy already), and I've been eyeing this bookshelf for a while. I already have a ton of books that I've acquired in Oregon, and I would love to properly display them. Speaking of making the living room more welcoming, this "apartment sweet apartment" doormat is literally perfect. Someone please buy this for me because it's so cute! this and that pillow look like they are a match made in heaven. I don't know what color couch we will have, so these bright, fun pillows may or may not go with a nasty college couch. Perhaps I should also search for a couch cover? And since we probably won't be able to paint the walls either, these butterfly wall decals are every college person's dreams. Also this photo hanger. We love printing out photos from our adventures together, and it would be so fun to have them all hanging in the common area. (I wonder how easy it would be to diy this?) And going off the colorful theme in the pillows, this rug practically has my name written all over it. In a perfect world, we would have a nice white couch, which would make this rug pop even more. Oooh I can picture it now ... Our freshman year of college, we all had white boards on our doors, so we could write each other notes. This noteboard from Modcloth would certainly keep that tradition alive! As for this road rug? Do I even have to explain myself. I want this because of reasons. Also it reminds me of when I used to play hotwheels with my little brothers, and I bet everyone would get a kick out of us having on of these. But back in the world of adults, we'll probably need a coffee table such as this one. So that our cars will have a real mountain to jump off of, obviously.

apartment wishlist // the bathroom

Since I currently do not have a cellular device and can't continue "my week in instagram" every Sunday for the time being, instead I'll continue my apartment wishlist! This semester in school, I'll be living in an on campus apartment with five beautiful and amazing girls, and I'm incredibly excited to make this little space our home for the next year.

For the bathroom, it of course will have to be nautical themed. No question about it. Starting off, that octopus art print is amazing and would be perfect to go on perhaps the wall above our towel hangers. Since I'll be sharing with five people, so shower caddies such as these two from UO and Modcloth would be perfect for everyone's shower products. I'm all for bringing the outdoors inside, and these little boxcar planters are going to look so cute on top of the commode or maybe even lining the tub! Even though the hair care set is geared towards guys, I kind of really want it for myself. I've been cutting my own hair since eighth grade, but have been using my scrapbooking scissors the entire time. Think maybe I'm ready for an upgrade? In keeping with that nautical theme, it's only appropriate to have a cute whale chilling out in the tub and that aaaawesome shower curtain. Now I will never want to leave the shower because I'll think I'm actually in the ocean!

apartment wishlist // kitchen

In just under six weeks, I will be moving into an apartment at college with my friends, and I'm already dreaming up ways to personalize it and make it super cute. There's not really much I know about putting things on the wall, or if purchasing furniture will come back to haunt me come time to move out in the summer, but that hasn't stopped me from pinning and gathering things that I want to put in the space! Today we are focusing on the kitchen. My friends and I set up a plan where one night a week, a different one of us cooks dinner (we shall see how that actually turns out), so I foresee we will be in the kitchen a lot.

birthday wishlist

Also this shirt, one calendar for school, one for blogging/goals, one journal for diary, one for dreams, and a moo gift card.

Now that the holidays are finally over, it's time to focus on birthdays in the Parker family. My dad's, brother's, and my birthdays are all within the span of eight days, so it's nothing short of a celebration at our house. Of course, I head back to college before my birthday, so the party party party time will have to be a little premature, but I'm still really excited about it! My dad had me put together a wishlist of things I want, so I browsed around and found things that I claim I can't live without. But really I am content with where I am in life and this is just stuff (not saying that I don't want to get stuff for my birthday though, parents! Wink wink.) I'm just really thankful I've had an awesome break with my family and boyfriend and that in a week I get to go back to an awesome school with some of the most amazing people I've ever met.
