the sky was crying and I stood and watched

day 170

Today was another bright and sunny day, filled with weddings and evening showers and rainbows and even a hail shower (that never happens in Alaska). I went outside at 10:30pm to take these photos after sitting on the couch for way too long. I got soaking wet from the rain and probably acquired a ton of mosquito bites (and possibly a cold) but it smelled so nice outside I guess I don't mind.

PHOTOSHOOT

shirt/jeans: thrifted // cardigan: gift // shoes: thrifted/diy

I wanted to show you guys a typical outfit I would wear to a photoshoot, so after my shoot with Josiah I snapped a few photos while lawn workers looked on from the field down below. Of course I saved the jumping pictures until after they left, but aren't you proud of me for taking photos of myself in front of people?

For photoshoots, I always wear something simple and comfortable. I want to look somewhat presentable, especially when I'm in public with a client, just in case a random pedestrian asks what we're doing. Then I can whip out a business card like a spy and attack them with my business. Aaaww yeeeah.

Funny story about these jeans. I believe that very, very, very few people can pull of wearing leggings as pants. The same goes with jeggings. I was not going to come within one hundred feet of those things. ... Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I found myself at the thrift store in desperate need of a new pair of jeans. I found this awesome pair and immediately got it. Little did I know what I had purchased. I began to suspect I had bought jeggings when I discovered the front pockets were fake. After looking at the tag and seeing the size was XL, my suspicions came together. I, Lauren, now own a pair of jeggings. And I'm not afraid to say that they are the most comfortable things on the planet.

I hope you have a very awesome day!

p.s. photobucket isn't working so I'll try to get my 365 photos up tomorrow

finally summer

day 169

Today really finally felt like the first day of summer. With the sun shining and temperatures nearly at 70 degrees (we were all sweating so much), it was the perfect day to assemble our new trampoline!

It was so hot all I wanted to do was lay on the trampoline and fall asleep. My grandpa mows lawns during the summer and always wears stickers to get tan tattoos, so I tried the same thing. It kind of worked, but I wasn't outside enough to make much of a difference. I'll keep trying though.

Right now it's raining and thundering! Alaska never gets thunderstorms and that was one of the things I miss most about Oklahoma. This is the first time in three years I've heard thunder in real life and it is the most beautiful sound. I can't wait to fall asleep to it.

My week in instagram #4

had a very successful 365 day // finished the "guest book" for the wedding // hanging out // inspired a little photographer // put a giant net in the car for a photoshoot. // babysat cute kids! // put up a new diy // woke up early to watch Legend of Korrah // did a photoshoot with Miss Teen and Miss Alaska United States

Just one day late. :3 Quite honestly I forgot to do an instagram post. I guess with running around with Emily and Emma for our photoshoot, it just slipped my mind!

I hope you had a great week and happy father's day!
