opposites

day 230

My photographic plans didn't work out, so after watching way too many episodes of Extreme Homes and dreaming of building a house in the trees, I decided to actually get out and take some pictures. My days have been filled with stressing out about last minute things, but actually not doing very much. We're in that in between moment; my life is about to change forever and I'm not quite sure what to do to prepare for it. But for now I have my favorite cat sleeping at my side and I'm dreaming of the future (thanks to Say Yes to the Dress ... gosh that show makes me cry so much), and life is good.

day 229

Today was one of those days where I really wanted a documentation type of photo instead of a creative type of photo. It was the last day I get to babysit my kids (at least for a few months). Even though they have way too much energy and independence and stubbornness for their own good, they are the cutest bunch of kids around and I am going to miss spending time with them.

Other than my family and Matt, I have hung out with these little munchkins the most this summer. Since it was my last time with them, I figured I'd bring my camera to take a few photos. I've done this a couple times in the past and have always come home with hundreds of photos of random objects shot by the kids. Thankfully this time my camera died so they weren't itching to take any pictures. :) They did however agree to pose in front of the camera with me (and had way too much fun doing it, might I add).

Aren't they just the cutest? I'm going to miss them so much.

this is the gloaming

day 228

Well I did it, I went a full week taking photos of someone other than myself for this 365 project! That is the most awesome thing to me, you don't even know.

I had a cool (and super creepy and totally unlike me) idea for today's photo, which my brother Nicholas agreed to do, but then he told me about this cool area and I decided we should just take his portrait with the cool broken down car instead. Maybe one day I'll do my super creepy idea though. ;)

Today I also got to go shopping with my friend Shannon, and I spent way too much money, but hey, back to school shopping, right?

your protector's coming home

day 227

A big huge thank you to Joel for willing to get wet all for the sake of a photo and to my boyfriend Matt for having way too much fun squirting water on Joel. Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Today I woke up early to go to the dentist for a cleaning, and came out with yet another oral surgery in the near future. Blarg. I thought I was done with surgeries years ago but I guess that's not the case. Then I went to the orthodontist to get a new retainer, which I have to wear all the time for a week. Blarg again. Speaking of which, I probably should put it back in my mouth ... now I am in pain.

But really, today has been a good day. I'm finishing up the last of the paperwork for college and getting extremely apprehensive about going. I just really hope I can find time to shoot and blog since I have heard that college work takes a lot more out of you than high school work. Blarg yet again. This model kick for the 365 project that I've been on has been so awesome; this is the sixth photo in a row without me in it! I had made a goal to myself to shoot 75 people other than myself (with the same people being able to count multiple times), and at first I was afraid I wasn't going to make the goal, but I definitely think I have surpassed it. Success! I'm only hoping there will be a lot of people willing to do crazy things for me in college. Fingers crossed!
