Whew! What a week. It's been really long and busy, but that's the way I like it. I hope you had a fantastic week as well. What all did you do? I would love to know! And as always, you can follow me on instagram @impulsings.
day 224
I am now convinced I can do anything with photoshop. It took me nearly five hours to edit this, from rebuilding Aly's skirt and completely painting in her foot, to adding the clouds and airplane and other flying things. But it was totally worth it, no? I could spend the rest of my life doing this and be absolutely happy. In a few days I'll post a behind-the-scenes video from this shoot, so watch out for that!
A big thank you to Aly for modeling for me despite walking around barefoot and getting eaten by mosquitoes. And thank you for paying for my ice cream after we chased down the ice cream truck man. :)
Detail shot here. Seriously go look at it, there are little surprises.
Other than running around with Aly, Matt got to come over for a family dinner, and then he and I got to go to the arcade with Joel and Marquel! Oh, and I'm finally allowed to tell you guys this awesome news. Joel and Marquel are pregnant! I'm super excited about this because I love babies and them and fun secrets that I finally get to share. Matt and I were one of the first people they told (even before their parents, hah), but we had to keep it a secret so that they could tell other people. Marquel sent me her first ultrasound via text this morning and man oh man there's a baby inside her! I just find it completely fascinating and exciting.
But anyways, after hanging out with them, Matt and I came back to my house to play video games and card games with the family. It was a ton of fun and hopefully we'll get a few more family nights in before we leave.
I hope you all had a super fantastic day as well!
day 223
Yay! William modeled for me two days in a row!
This photo describes how I've been feeling a lot recently in regards to concepts in photography. Some times my ideas for photos are bursting at the seams, and other times it seems like they blow up and disappear before I can even think of them. Either I get an awesome idea or no idea. But there was a lot of positive support for my 365 photo yesterday on facebook that it made me really strive to create another smashing image (pun completely intended). Even though I will take photos even if no one ever says anything about them, it's always a big boost to have positive things said about my pictures. So thank you!
Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Aly again (those of you who have been reading for a long time have seen her before!) to do a 365 shoot, so it will be another day filled with awesome pictures, and I cannot wait!
A detail shot is on my photography page.
dress: handmade // skirt: handmade // shoes: target
In exactly thirteen days I'll be headed off to college. It's no new news that I'm extremely excited and extremely not excited to go. The feelings are weird. But we're not gonna talk about it right now. ;) But in other news, I've been starting to think about what clothes to bring and what clothes to leave behind. Both of my parents are going down with me (which I'm super happy about), and the way the airlines work, each person is allowed two suitcases for free (or really cheap, I forget the details, haha), so my parents will use one suitcase and I'll get the remaining five. Though I hope I don't bring that much stuff, it's nice to know that I'm not limited. I do want to downsize though since the dorm room will be slightly smaller than my room and I'm sharing it with my roommate Annette. :)
If there's a Target in your area, you HAVE to go right now and buy these shoes. I found them on sale and they are the most amazing shoes ever. They remind me of those saltwater sandals that everyone seems to be so obsessed with, but these have heels. The fantastic thing is that they are incredibly easy to walk in and so comfortable, I've even been wearing them inside the house! Seriously. Go buy these shoes.
I hope you all have a fantastic day!
