Call it what you want, call it old punk rock

shirt: c/o sugarlips // skirt: sister's closet // tights: diy // shoes: target

Look at this gorgeous top Sugarlips sent me!
IT. HAS. CATS. ON. IT.
If you don't know anything else about me, know this: I adore cats. When I was little I would buy tons of disposable cameras and take hundreds of photos of cats (I kid you not). There are two cats living in our house at the moment. I am planning on being a crazy cat lady when I grow up. That is how much I love cats. And now my love of them can be shown through this adorable shirt!

It kind of reminds me of a vintage bowling shirt with the way the pattern is confined to the sides, which is totally awesome. It's also made of a really soft material and has cool sleeves. I was really sad that it's not socially acceptable to wear the same shirt all week, because I wanted to wear it to school every day!

After seeing Annika's diy tights, I grabbed an old pair and started getting to work creating my own fun pattern! It was pretty easy, but if you're going to do it sitting down like I did, be sure to start at the ankles and work your way up--so much easier. And after I peeled off the tights, there were little marks of leftover red paint on my legs! It looked like I had the chicken pox, haha.

Well it's finally spring break, and I for one and super relieved. There's a ton of things I've been needing to do and just not enough time to do it. You know how that is, school taking up time you could be using to do things you're actually going to do for the rest of your life ... anybody else feel that way? Ah well. I guess there's some benefit to school somehow. Only one more semester until I graduate!

Thank you all so much for your support. It really means the world to me. And I'd love to get to know you guys! Maybe I'll come up with a reader interview thingie thing ... ooh that sounds like fun. Anyways, have an awesome weekend!

Hair Scare

I've never been allowed to dye my hair, so throughout the years I've had a plethora of cuts. Bob, Pixie, suuuper short, suuuper long, curly, stick straight, you name it. Once I live away from home, however, I'll be able to do whatever I want with my locks. I'm unsure what my college hair policy is, but I'm kind of hoping they don't care if hair is crazy colors, because I just might go crazy. Okay, maybe not so crazy as to dye my whole head an unnatural color (even though I would love to), but just a little bit.

We'll see though, I played around in photoshop and I actually really like a couple of the colors on me. I have my favorites, which ones are yours? And who knows, maybe in a few months I'll have crazy colored hair.

I'll post my 365 tomorrow as well as work on more outfit posts (yay!). It's been a crazy few days with the Northern Lights out, and I've been getting several good photos of them. Tomorrow is supposed to be the best day ... I expect nothing but greatness!

I see you crawl, now you stand tall

day 67

I only took 50% of this photo today. Last night the northern lights were out! I had been waiting forever to get a good photo of them, and finally they were vivid enough for some pretty okay photos. But they're scheduled to be especially active on friday, so I'm expecting a fantastic show.

I love taking photos in the dark with only my laptop as a light source. I always literally take hundreds of these photos, because I get lost in thought and lost trying to express that thought. So here are a couple more:

Awesome

day 66

My days have been consumed surrounded by these people. We are about to put on an awesome play. I don't think I'm going to actually use this photo for part of the set (one of our props is a "family" portrait) as I never got a photo of one of our cast members before she snuck away from me. Harumph. Can you guess which two people were photoshopped in? I'm surprised I actually did as good as I did photoshopping in people ... but I'll just retake it when the full cast is present. That seems logical.
