far off hope

day 292

This is my friend Dane. I had set up a photoshoot in my dorm room and Dane came in and wanted to model so of course I let him. It's so much easier to have people model for me than having myself model, especially with photos like this where I have to manual focus. So if anyone who goes to my college wants to model for me, let me know!

Today was our school's carnival, which was actually just one inflatable ride and a couple games. I stood in line forever to get a henna tattoo that didn't even transfer very well, and Dane got a batman tramp stamp. It was super hilarious! All my other friends were other places so they missed out on the henna goodness. I've been thinking a lot about getting a tattoo and even though I'm terrified of needles, I really want to do it. I'll probably still wait a long time to make sure I actually want it, so never fear people. :)

skirt: forever 21 // polka dot dress (as shirt): from mom // bird shirt: borrowed // shoes: target

I found the perfect spot to take photos. This place is right outside my dorm and even when people walk past it, most don't notice a person taking photos because they are usually looking straight ahead. So you will definitely be seeing this sidewalk again.

Also, my friend and I were creeping through some of my old blog posts, and man, I have improved a lot in terms of taking outfit photos. Some of my older posts were baaad! Haha, but I do love looking back on them and seeing how much I've grown in almost a year of having this blog.

I hope you guys have a fantastic day!

autumn leaves

day 291

Model is Allie.

It's officially fall. Tomorrow there is a fall festival at our school and all the leaves are changing colors and it makes me so happy because I haven't really experienced a real fall in a while. Alaska has about a week of the trees changing color and then winter rolls around, but here beautifully colored leaves practically cover the entire ground. It's amazing.

little ballerina

dress: borrowed // shoes: target // tights: mom's closet

Usually I'm not one to wear clothes that just drape, such as this dress, but I took a chance and went beltless, and I'm glad I did. I felt like I was wearing a beautiful lace curtain all day and just wanted to twirl around in it like a ballerina. When I was super little I was in ballet and gymnastics, but those things were short lived for whatever reason. I think I quit because I didn't like to stretch, which is still true of myself today. I like to joke and say that I hate any sort of physical activity, even though I would say I live a pretty active life through photography. I'm always running around and climbing things and exploring things, which in my mind is always better than stretching for a dance recital or spinning on the uneven bars, even though I have a ton of respect for people who can do those things. It's just that I'm not talented in that area and I'm perfectly fine with that.

In other news, my friends and I have started a ritual of watching an episode of Sherlock every night before we go to bed. I remember reading the stories in seventh grade but never got very far for no good reason at all. The show really makes me want to pick up reading them again. Hopefully when I go back home for Christmas I'll remember to grab the book from my bookshelf for when we run out of episodes to watch.

I hope you guys have a fantastic Wednesday!
