fall break

shirt/cardigan/headband: borrowed // pants: gift // shoes: famous footwear

This is my typical lazy day look, but I really wanted to do an outfit post about it for the sole reason that I finally mastered the scarf hair tie look! My hair keeps getting longer and longer and a whole new hair world that I never knew about is opening up. I can't wait for my hair to get really long so that I can do crazy braids with it.

I'm super excited for today. First of all it's Friday, which is exciting in of itself, but we also got a day off of school for our "fall break," so some of my friends and I are planning on going to an abandoned building and taking some pictures! Hopefully we'll actually be able to find said building. Google hasn't been much help so far in finding locations but I'm sure if we drive around enough we're sure to find something, hah.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! What are you guys planning on doing?

speak up

day 285

view here.

Today I woke up to the most beautiful fog, so after fitness class (at 7:40 am ... don't ever take a class that early) I ran to the track field and took this picture. It was definitely outside my comfort zone because there were people walking everywhere and there was me running around in a white dress flipping my hair in front of a camera. But hey, I got a good picture out of it and I was done with my 365 photo before 9 in the morning! The rest of the day was incredibly lazy. My roommate Annette and I have spent the majority of our evening playing nertz with new friends and I think we are going to watch some movies in a little bit. Needless to say, I love college life.

finding your passions

dress: borrowed // tights/hat/cardigan: forever 21 // shoes: target

Hooray, it's the last day of school for the week! Our school's "fall break" was getting Friday off, but hey, I'll take whatever I can get. Thursday is my easy day anyways; I have fitness and ceramics in the morning and then I'm done. I really do love my schedule that I have, except I definitely could have taken one or two more classes this semester. I keep telling myself that it was a good idea to take first semester easy, but I have been thinking* about double majoring in English and Studio Art (with concentrations in Creative Writing and Photography), so the stress of getting two majors in plus my gen-eds has been on the back of my mind. *and by thinking I mean I am going to do this.* I just have to sit myself down and map out the next four years, which is a stressful task in of itself, especially because there are so many classes I want to take.

College really has great opportunities. In high school I never even had the chance to take a ceramics class and now I want to throw pots and plates and bowls for the rest of my life (so my future husband should keep in mind that I really want a throwing wheel in our house). Same with my scene shop job. Now all I want for Christmas is my very own tool kit, complete with power drills and saws and all kinds of stuff. I can't wait to see what other passions I find in college.

I hope you have an awesome day!

illuminata

day 284

I don't really like this. I know I can do a lot better with my photos but something isn't clicking right and I am making no progress. But hopefully this weekend I can actually schedule 365 photoshoots and get all the ideas that I sketch down in front of a camera.

Other than that, today was great. I got to go to the ceramics lab and work on a plate that I'm making for myself. I really hope it turns out nicely because I actually like the direction it's going. I can't wait to show you guys!
