hideaway

day 13

I intended to take a different photo, but when I remembered my neighbor's tree fell down in a windstorm (I remembered when I couldn't get to her yard because there was a tree in my way), I knew I had to take the opportunity. In the little "cave" I'm sitting in, there were cute little bunny footprints in the snow. How adorable is that? I should have gotten a picture ...

Matt got me this scarf nearly a year ago while he was on a mission trip. It's definitely my favorite scarf. :)

Oh and hey guess what? It's the weekend!

elysium

dress as a shirt from my little sister's closet, originally mine // cardigan from my mom's closet // shoes from target

When I was little I absolutely hated this dress. But that was pretty typical of most of the things I wore during elementary school and junior high. It's sad that I didn't appreciate style back then, because this dress is so cute! Thankfully I can still fit into it ... it's like getting a second chance! I wore it as a shirt here and decided to tuck it in all the way, although I still love the half tucked in style. It just adds more visual interest to an outfit. The back of the dress, however, is my favorite, with its basket-weaved look. Plus, who doesn't want to look all summery in the dead of winter?

our eyes had lost the stars

day 12

Remember that eighteen inches of snow that was scheduled to fall today? Well it happened. All through school we were just waiting for the administration to let us go home early. Of course they did not, but thankfully all after school activities were canceled. That was a good thing, because the roads were scary enough to navigate through even with daylight. I am pretty sure that if I don't crash this winter, I should be named the world's greatest driver. First few months of having my license and I get to experience the worst (or best, depending on how you look at it) Alaskan winter ever? Challenge accepted.

everybody's starry-eyed

dress from forever 21 // sweater from forever 21 // shoes from target // tights from my mom's closet

Woohoo! Finally another outfit post! I decided to quit throwing myself a pity party about lack of sunlight to take photos, man up, and get stuff accomplished. And I'm so happy I did! Even though I love variation in location for outfit photos, if I ever find myself without sunlight, I will definitely be visiting this wall in my house again. I feel like it could also be the perfect spot for fashion-esque 365 photos as well.

As for the status of this blog, this weekend I'm planning on sitting down and mapping out a proper structure and making some diy posts and whatnot, so that everything is more organized. Stay tuned for awesomeness!

Like I mentioned before, my homecoming dress came today! I was so afraid it wouldn't make it on time. Processing time apparently takes up to thirty business days (thank you to the company for notifying me of that before I bought my dress ...), so I was worried I would be dressless for senior homecoming (side note: our school's homecoming is equivalent to prom). After many stress-induced emails and pleadings, my dress was finally shipped and is home, over three weeks before homecoming. Sigh, all that worrying for nothing! After some minor alterations, it will be perfect!
