where the dreams all hide

day 65

Yes, this was very cold. Technically this is cheating because I took the photo yesterday, but I did edit it today and I did take photos today and there's an extra day this year, so I figured this was okay for the 365 project.

This is a companion photo to this one.

DNA

day 64

Yesterday I met up for coffee with Matt and Jacob. Jacob always takes his straw and folds it into a piece of DNA. I love the little things about us that make us who we are, and I think this is the start of a never-ending series of people and the little quirks and mannerisms they have.

Ol' Saint John on Death Row

shirt and dress from thrift store // tights from my mom's closet // vintage bag from a friend

This dress has been in my possession for a couple of months, but I've never worn it because it's so low cut. So it has been hiding in my closet until I rediscovered it the other day and thought, "Man, I could just wear a shirt underneath it!" A few months ago it would have never dawned on me to wear a button-down shirt underneath dresses. Thank goodness our fashion sense is always changing and evolving! (I've also worn this shirt so many times with outfits ... I think it's time to be on the lookout for a new one!)

I got this purse from a really especially cool friend for my birthday, and I love it to death! I'm not much of a purse person, but I've actually acquired a couple purses since the beginning of the year. It's a much better alternative than stuffing all my junk in my coat pockets. Hehe. I use this one as a camera bag. It's the perfect size for my camera and extra lens and whatever else I may need for photoshoots.

I've been trying my hand at in-camera editing ... I don't think it quite works out with falling snow. It makes the photos look too processed. Oh well, ya live and learn.

The snow is so high that our neighbor's dog can finally hop over the fence! He's visited me twice while I was taking photos. He's never actually come up to me, but he stands several feet away and just barks and barks. At first I thought it was a bear coming to attack me and I freaked out! But then it just ended up being a cute little doggie.
